Seattle’s Favorite Bakery - Commercial Spot

Directing, Full Video Production.

I was hired to create a commercial spot for a local bakery. It was fun and challenging to create an entire piece from start to finish, and I ended up learning a lot about what it takes to work with a film crew of 1 or 2 people. As my friend Matt Olsen and I worked on the script and project together, we got to know some of the employees that work there and ended up revising the script to reflect their culture, humor, and personality. After all the hard work and many days of filming, they ended up loving the result. … oh, and props to my friend Tom DesLongchamp that illustrated the “Kevin Muffintopp” character.

I thought it would be fun to match the Seattle Skyline with the company logo. Instead of using stock footage, I decided to purchase a drone and shoot it myself. Here’s some of the raw/test footage.

This was one of the more fun product shoots I’ve done. I popped my Black Magic Camera on a small dolly, then used a rotating turntable along with stop-motion and speed ramp techniques to achieve the effect.
